TERMS & CONDITIONS

Important terms of service

Please read these terms before using our calculators or relying on our estimates.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the CheckAffordability website, calculators and related tools (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live.

2. Nature of the Service

The Service helps you explore whether a planned purchase or commitment may fit your finances. Results are estimates only and depend on the inputs and assumptions you provide, as well as those built into our model. The CheckAffordability Score is not financial, investment, tax, legal or credit advice, and it is not an offer, approval or refusal of credit. The Service does not account for all your personal circumstances, local taxes, fees, interest-rate changes, inflation or other costs and risks. Please consult a qualified financial adviser before any significant financial decision. You remain solely responsible for your decisions.

3. Acceptable Use and License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree to provide accurate information, use the Service lawfully, and not:

  • copy, modify, distribute or commercially exploit the Service or its content;
  • reverse engineer or extract the source code or methodology of any calculator or model;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated tools without our written permission; or
  • interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, calculators, the CheckAffordability Score and the underlying methodology, is owned by CheckAffordability or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. No rights are granted except the limited license above.

5. Privacy

All calculations are performed client-side, in your browser. The information you enter into our calculators is not sent to our servers or stored. For more detail, please read our Privacy Policy.

6. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about its accuracy, completeness or reliability, and we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CheckAffordability and its owners and contributors are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss, including financial loss, arising from your use of the Service or from decisions you make relying on our estimates or Score. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

7. Changes

We may change or discontinue any part of the Service, and update these Terms, at any time. Updated Terms take effect when posted, and continued use means you accept them.

Important Notice: CheckAffordability provides educational estimates based on the information and assumptions you enter. The CheckAffordability Score is a proprietary, research-informed model. It is not financial advice, a lending decision, or a guarantee that a purchase is right for you.
